BAG02:IRAN-IRAQ-PRISONERS:MUNDHARIEH,IRAQ,29JUN00 - A group of prisoners arrive in Mundharieh on the border between Iran and Iraq June 29. The prisoners arrived home from Iran nearly 13 years after the end of the 1980-88 war between the Iraq the Gulf neighbours. Iran has released 450 Iraqi prisoners of war, bringing the number it has freed this year to 3,389, the International Committee of the Red Cross said on Thursday. In a statement, the Geneva-based humanitarian agency said that the Iraqis were released under its auspices at the Mundharieh-Khosravi checkpoint on the two countries' common border on Wednesday. The Swiss-run ICRC said that it had supervised the repatriation of more than 97,400 prisoners of war since the Iran-Iraq conflict broke out in 1980. fk/Str REUTERS

اعلنت وزارة الدفاع العراقية تسلم رفاة 128 ً ” شهيدا” سقطوا في الحرب العراقية – الايرانية
فيما طالبت ذويهم بمراجعتها.
وذكرت الوزارة في بيان، انها “تدعو ذوي الشهداء المرفق أسمائهم أدناه
في القوائم، لمراجعة شعبة شؤون استلام وتسليم الشهداء في مقرها الكائن في الزبير
بمحافظة البصرة، لغرض استلام رفات ذويهم من الشهداء، الذين تم أكمال فحص عينات (DNA(
الخاصة بهم من قبل دائرة الطب العدلي”.
